Overview
The WIPO Worldwide Academy will offer a two-week Summer School on Intellectual Property (Summer School) from
July 14 to 25, 2008
The Summer School offers an invaluable education program in the whole area of intellectual property (IP) (Please see program below).
Fifty places will be made available. Selected applicants will be notified by May 14, 2008.
Objective
The objective of the Summer School is to provide an opportunity for senior students and young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of IP, and to gain an appreciation of IP as a tool for economic, social, cultural and technological development and the role WIPO plays in the global administration of IP.
Who May Apply?
Senior students (graduate and postgraduate students) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline.

Payable upon notification of acceptance.
Students: US $ 300
Young professionals: US$ 500
Program
The program [available in MS-WORD or Adobe PDF] consists of lectures by eminent experts in the field of IP, both from WIPO and external. The program also includes case studies and group discussions on selected IP topics. A certificate of participation is awarded to those who successfully complete all requirements of the program.
Insurance and Medical Examination
All participants will be provided with insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in connection with the Summer School program.
Each participant will be required to present a medical certificate upon arrival.
Travel, Accommodation and Living Expenses
Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Geneva, accommodation and living expenses during their participation of the program.
